When searching for files, you can limit the search to files that contain a particular text string.
Click the ‘Limit Search’ button on the left of the window. A dialog will open. In here, check the ‘Files containing text’ box and enter a text string. You can choose whether or not this text comparison is case sensitive. You can also enter several words and choose whether the search should only find files that contain all of those words, or whether it should match files that contain any of those words.
For each file that is found during the search, the ‘Found Text’ column of the results list will show an excerpt of the file containing your chosen text string.
Click here to see an example of text searching.
The text search string does not use wildcard characters. If you enter a text string of ‘*.*’ then that will only match the text ‘*.*’ in the file.
